• The model of food production and consumption will need to be adapted to low-energy future.
• Industrial-scale mass production at great distances is likely to be replaced by more local, smaller-scale production.
• The economics of food will change accordingly: food is likely to be a higher proportion of the average household budget, leading to more “do-it-yourself” gardening.
• One of the benefits is that food is likely to be fresher and healthier – with a lower proportion of highly processed foods in our diets.  We may be eating less meat.
