Policy Implications

A price will be put on carbon which will result in price increases for many services and products. How much that cost is remains uncertain.

People from low lying areas and islands will need to relocate to safer areas or even other countries.

There will be international pressure and expectations that every country implements policies to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.

Notes

Even through the direct impacts of climate change will be less in New Zealand then in some countries we will still be subject to the international policy and expectations. Hence New Zealand will need to have its own policy to ensure our greenhouse gas emissions reduce.
