Demographic Profile
Papatoetoe’s population has grown by almost 12% from year 2001 to 2006, with a total of 40,650 residents of which 34% belong to the European ethnic group, followed by 33% Asian, 26% Pacific peoples and 16% Maori (Soruce:2006 Census).
Papatoetoe also has the highest number of residents between the ages of 20 to 40 years old. Elderly residents account for 10% of the ward’s population, which is the second highest in Manukau.
